Prof. Dr.
Christina Ljungberg is a literary and cultural scholar and author with several years of media experience in Swedish and Canadian film and television.
She has been teaching English and American literature at the University of Zurich since 1995.
She is the coordinator of the Iconicity Research Project (together with Prof. Dr. Olga Fischer, University of Amsterdam) and editor of the series
Iconicity in Language and Literature.
Her many books and articles focus mainly on iconicity and intermediality, and the function of maps and photographs in literature and art.
As part of the publishing company
Imaginary Wanderings Press, she also researches and writes books on various cultural subjects such as the cultural history of lake Lucerne and the Gotthard, avalanche risk management as intangible cultural heritage and a social and cultural history of the cooperative BDZ in Zürich.
